Digital Marketing & Client Services Manager
Q: What’s your number one tip on how to maintain a healthy work life balance?
J: I always step away from my desk when I start to feel overwhelmed or change my scenery. Even if I’m still working, a change in my surroundings creates a new perspective and re-energizes me. I’m also selfish with my health. I make sure to get out of the office for at least 30 minutes a day to workout or socialize; remembering that mental health is just as important as physical health!
Q: What’s the most inspiring part of your job?
J: I love trying to inspire others to become their best selves and provide my team with support so they can help others too. It’s all about helping others and I wouldn’t want to be in any other industry whose mission doesn’t involve helping others out.
Q: What is the most important thing you’ve learned on the job?
J: Busy does not mean you’re working hard. I’ve learned that feeling chaotic might mean you’re overworked and therefore not producing quality work. I started writing out my weekly tasks and projects to better schedule out my week and see what activities need immediate attention. Working smarter not harder is not something you can do overnight but takes some commitment to get organized.
Q: What is the nerdiest thing you do in your spare time?
J: I’m a huge otaku! It all started with Saturday morning Sailor Moon cartoons at my aunt’s house and to this day I love discovering new shows, going to comic cons, reading manga and drawing my own characters. I’m also big into Avatar the Last Airbender, Doctor Who and Star Wars. So my spare time is spent watching or re-watching shows, diving into fan theories, creating memes or attempting to draw my favorite characters.
Q: What did you think you were going to grow up to be when you were a kid?
J: I thought I would be a dancer. I still love to dance and finally pushed myself to learn ballet. It’s never too late to start something new!
